Residence permit for the purpose of family reunification
Alien spouses, children under 18, disabled family members and dependent parents of a 2-year provisional resident, permanent resident or national.
Children over 18 years of age up to 25 years of age may be applied for as dependents, as long as they can prove that they are studying on a regular basis and are under the economic dependence of the resident or national.
The Resident or national who proves to have the Guardianship or Guardianship and Upbringing of a minor person may apply for it as a dependent. This permit will be granted on a provisional basis for a term of 2 years, with the right to permanent residence,
This permit does not grant a work permit.
You must come to the Republic of Panama at least three times:
- The first visit, 10 working days or the equivalent of two weeks. At this visit we register your passport and open your personal bank account. We will then proceed to submit the application, take your passport photo and obtain your multiple entry/exit permit (if you plan to travel out of the country while the application is being approved).
- Second visit, Notification of Approved Residence Permit and taking of photograph of provisional resident’s migratory card.

This permit is valid for two (2) years, upon expiration of the term, you must renew the permit to apply for your Permanent Residency and cedula E.
- Power of Attorney and Application
- Power of attorney is indispensable
- Three (3) photographs.
- Copy of the passport duly notarized and authenticated.
- Certificate of Criminal Record.
- Health Certificate.
- Certified Check for US$ 250.00 in favor of the National Treasury.
- Certified Check for US$ 800.00 in favor of the National Immigration Service.
- Personal Background Affidavit Form.
- Notarized letter of responsibility of the resident or national.
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate or court record).
- Applicants over the age of majority and under 25 years of age must provide:
- Certification from an educational institution that you are a full-time student.
- complete and on a regular basis.
- Affidavit of bachelorhood.
- Proof that the resident has sufficient financial solvency, which may be accredited in one of the following ways:
- Income tax return with your peace of mind, and it must comply with a minimum income of B/1000.00 per month, plus B/100.00 for each dependent.
- Updated work letter with its respective stub or CSS card and copy of the work permit.
- Bank reference letter of not less than four middle figures.
The Multiple Return Visa is optional only if you are going to travel within the next six (6) months, equivalent to the duration of your processing card. This is a stamp that is stamped in your passport once you have your 6 month provisional card while the process is reviewed by immigration. After the photograph of the carnet the passport must go to Immigration for 72 hours for the stamping. If you travel with your 6 month provisional passport card and you do not have this stamp in your passport you may incur a fine of USD 2,000.00 when you re-enter the country.
